The Door with Seven Locks (1940) a British film directed by Norman Lee and starring Leslie Banks, Lilli Palmer, Romilly Lunge, and Gina Malo. The film was based on the novel The Door with Seven Locks by Edgar Wallace. The Door with Seven Locks (1940) was released in the United States by Monogram Pictures retitled as Chamber of Horrors on December 20, 1940.













The Mummy (1932) an American horror film from Universal Studios directed by Karl Freund and starring Boris Karloff  and featuring Zita Johann, David Manners and Edward Van Sloan. This film, released on December 22, 1932 was a huge the box office hit, but unlike Frankenstein (1931), Dracula (1931) and other Universal horror films,  had no sequels, but rather had a reboot of sorts with The Mummy's Hand (1940).





The Mummy's Curse (1944) a sequel to The Mummy's Ghost (1944) was released on December 22, 1944. This would be Lon Chaney, Jr.'s final appearance as Kharis, the mummy.
