Friday's Fright Film Fact
There were several treatments and scripts written for the squeal to Frankenstein (1931). Two of the working titles were The New Adventures of Frankenstein - The Monster lives! and The Return of Frankenstein. They, along with several others, were rejected by the studio and director James Whale. Whale turn to writers William J. Hurlbut and Edmund Pearson. Together Hurlbut and Pearson would write what is now considered one of the best sequels in film history, The Bride of Frankenstein (1935).
