This Week in Fright Film History January 19 to 25, 2014


 

Colin Clive was born on January 20, 1900. Although Clive appeared in over 18 films it is the role of Henry Frankenstein in Frankenstein (1931) that he is best remembered for. Clive would reprise his role as Henry Frankenstein again in The Bride of Frankenstein (1935).


The Invisible Ray (1936) a science fiction/horror film starring Boris Karloff and Béla Lugosi was released on January 20, 1936.


Alraune (1928)  a German silent science fiction/ horror film directed by Henrik Galeen and starring Brigitte Helm was released on January 25, 1928.









The Raven (1963) a horror/comedy film produced and directed by Roger Corman was released on January 25, 1963. The film stars Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff and a very young Jack Nicholson.
